Hi all.
The fan in my SPP is malfunctioning, very noisy on startups, vibrating a lot and I would like to replace it.
What kind of specs do I need, apart from a 4x4 size?
Any further suggestion?

Hi, again.
I am not sure this is a problem of the fan. It only happens when I power off / power on the box, or if I activate the box from the standby state after a long while. Simultaneously I see a "hard disk error" message on the TV Display ( I've just replaced the old 500 GB Seagate with a 1TB WD Caviar Green) with a blinking blue light. The fan noise disappears after a short while, but the disk error and blinking Blue Light persists. Taking the disk offline with the front button and back online again with the remote, brings the SPP to full functionallity, no significant noise.
Have any of you seen this kind of Symptoms?

- Fan is probably just going out, maybe could use a good cleaning to bring it back. As for the hard disk error, I'd try running a chkdsk /x on it. --JCoug 17:09, February 12, 2011 (UTC)
