Windows to PC reformatting

I simply need to reformat my hard drive to a Mac compatible format. Here are the issues I'm having:

  • I am a brand new mac user and I'm unsure how to format a hard drive.
  • Will the reformatting erase the software that allows media playback, and if so how do I avoid this issue and format the drive?

Hoping someone can get back to me and help me out.

Keep living the dream.

Mitch

Hi Mitch. There are 4 partitions on the ScreenPlay Pro HD. The first two are EXT3, the third one is a special swap drive, the fourth is the media drive. The Screenplay requires the media drive to be either EXT3, NTFS, or FAT. I know FAT is compatible with macs but it does have file size limitations (I think it is 4 GB each). Reformatting the media only partition will not erase the media playback software, but if you do accidentally erase it you will need to download and install the firmware again by running the firmware installer on a PC --JCoug 05:48, June 23, 2010 (UTC)
